Home Design

“A family home designed around light, comfort, and the everyday growth of children.”

This Happy Valley home was designed with special attention to the needs of the owners’ two school-aged daughters, creating a space that is both functional and enjoyable for everyday living.

The girls’ bedroom features a bunk-bed layout with individual study areas. A custom-designed column combines a magnetic wall on one side and a whiteboard on the other, encouraging creativity, learning, and play.

The 800-square-foot apartment was originally an empty shell with little character. Through renovation, larger window openings were introduced to bring in more natural light, instantly enhancing the sense of space. A crystal glass feature wall in the dining area serves both as an art display and a visual highlight.

The living and dining areas are connected by a sculptural lighting feature and walnut-clad recesses, which also function as display shelves for the family’s collections.

As the building is over 50 years old, exposed structural beams posed a design challenge. Careful planning was required to respect feng shui principles, particularly in the bedrooms, where bed placement had to avoid overhead beams.

To maintain openness, the kitchen was designed without doors, while only a single door separates the two bedrooms, allowing better airflow and easier interaction between family members. The entrance area is kept clean and open, enhancing the sense of spaciousness.

Subtle design details—such as slim light slots in the master bedroom and laundry walls—allow natural light to filter in, creating a bright and comfortable living environment throughout the home.
