“ A 643 sq ft apartment designed around lightness and flow. Floating platforms, concealed storage, and integrated lighting create a calm, seamless home that feels larger than it is.”
Sometimes, it’s not what you see—but what you don’t—that defines a space. This 643 sq ft one-bedroom apartment was designed to feel light, calm, and almost weightless, using a series of carefully considered “floating” elements.
The concept begins in the lounge and home theatre area, where a raised platform allows the homeowner to lie closer to the window, enjoying expansive views of the sky and sea. The entertainment system is fully integrated and recessed into a black oak veneer wall, creating a seamless and clutter-free look. Black finishes on the walls and ceiling frame the view, while soft backlit LED lighting enhances a cocoon-like atmosphere at night. A zoning lighting control system allows the brightness to be adjusted for comfort and energy efficiency.
The dining table continues the floating concept, appearing suspended in mid-air. It can also be folded away against the wall, instantly transforming the space for gatherings or everyday flexibility.
In the bedroom, the bed sits on a raised platform, giving the illusion of hovering while concealing generous storage beneath. The wardrobe is wall-mounted to maintain the floating aesthetic, a design language echoed again in the bathroom cabinetry, which is separated from the bedroom by a glass door.
Despite its compact size, the apartment flows naturally and intuitively, ensuring that every movement through the space feels effortless and logical.
