TIA Home Design
“A four-storey garden home designed to reveal itself gradually. Soft transitions, playful details, and a calm neutral palette create a refined yet welcoming living experience.”
Located in Tai Po, an area well known for its elegant garden houses, this 2,100 sq ft residence was reimagined as a home that reveals itself gradually—creating a sense of curiosity, anticipation, and quiet delight.
Surrounded by a private garden and spread across four levels, the home welcomes visitors through a custom-made steel gate and a landscaped garden path filled with lush greenery.
Inside, the ground floor opens to a bright, open-plan kitchen where a long oval dining table sits naturally against a curved kitchen bench. The space flows seamlessly into the lounge, where the newly relocated staircase becomes the focal point. A soft, undulating gap between the stairs and wall offers playful glimpses of movement—revealing only footsteps, and nothing more.
This sense of lightness continues along the living room wall integrated with the staircase. A television appears to float effortlessly, while a softly lit recessed niche at the opposite end provides space to display decorative objects.
The ground floor also includes a functional storeroom, powder room, and maid’s room. To improve circulation and everyday usability, the front and rear entrances were repositioned, allowing smoother access between the parking area and the garden.
The first floor is dedicated to welcoming guests, offering enhanced privacy with a guest living room, bedroom, and bathroom. A larger multi-purpose room incorporates a home office, custom storage, and an exercise area. On the balcony, a wine fridge and relaxation chair create a quiet retreat overlooking the sea.
The entire second floor is reserved for the master suite, featuring walk-in wardrobes, a compact workstation, and a spacious en-suite bathroom with a dramatic black plunge spa bath. Glass doors divide each zone, maintaining openness while preserving privacy.
Throughout the home, a calm and neutral palette sets the tone. Soft hues are complemented by occasional black and white accents, resulting in a refined, uncluttered space that feels both elegant and serene.
