TIA Home Design

“ An adventure-inspired kids’ room designed around climbing, play and learning. Vertical storage, raised sleeping, integrated play routes and a cosy reading nook turn everyday movement into fun, while keeping the space safe, practical and inspiring.”

Designed for a young boy, this bedroom takes inspiration from off-road climbing and adventure. The aim was to create a space where play, movement and learning naturally come together.

With limited floor area, storage was developed vertically rather than horizontally. The raised bed allows the space beneath to be used for toy storage and an expanded play zone, maximising functionality without compromising comfort.

Learning is encouraged through a long blackboard wall designed to be usable whether the child is seated or standing. A cosy reading nook is located at the top of the steps, complete with soft cushions and built-in shelving—an ideal hideaway for quiet time. The study desk sits beside a large window, with careful consideration given to daylight control to support reading and concentration.

Play is fully integrated into the design. Storage steps double as climbing platforms, leading to a sturdy desk surface and continuing upward via a rope ladder inspired by outdoor adventure.

The journey ends at the reading nook and bed, while a metal pole allows the child to slide back down—turning everyday movement into fun. Warm, soft flooring materials were selected to ensure safety and comfort throughout the space.
