TIA Home Design

“ A light-filled home designed for an Australian expat, blending white minimal interiors with warm timber textures. Smart concealment of systems keeps the space clean and calm, while a rooftop retreat transforms the apartment into a relaxed indoor-outdoor living experience.”

Designed for an Australian expat, this apartment captures what many miss about home—natural light, openness, and a strong connection to organic materials.

The white interior and open-plan kitchen help bounce daylight throughout the main living space, creating a bright and airy feel. Warmth is added through a custom walnut bookcase and oak flooring, offering a subtle contrast in texture and tone.

This 1,000-square-foot home was planned with everyday living in mind. A study nook sits neatly off the kitchen, while built-in storage lines the walls to keep the space uncluttered and functional.

To maintain clean, angular lines, appliances and systems were carefully concealed. Speakers are hidden behind white fabric panels, cables are fully managed behind the television, and air-conditioning units are integrated into the walls. Spotlights replace pendant lighting to keep the ceiling visually calm.

The kitchen island often becomes a social hub for pre-dinner drinks, reflecting the home’s relaxed lifestyle. Both bathrooms follow the same clean aesthetic, finished with white cabinetry and Corian countertops.

The main bedroom features tropical-style white shutters and a custom platform bed, while the second bedroom was also fully refreshed.

With government approval, an internal staircase was added to access the rooftop. Topped with a glass roof and adjustable blinds, the rooftop is designed as an outdoor living room—complete with potted palms, flexible outdoor furniture, and a mobile kitchen for easy entertaining.
