TIA Clinic Design|Oncology Cancer Centre
“ A petal-inspired oncology clinic where curved forms symbolise life, strength, and hope—transforming a compact space into a powerful healing experience.”
Among several layout proposals, the client ultimately chose the most challenging yet emotionally powerful option. The design is based on the concept of “petals”, using soft, flowing curves to represent the journey of life.
The client’s previous clinic followed a traditional layout with poor air circulation and outdated systems. This renovation fully upgraded the air-conditioning, ventilation, and overall spatial comfort.
Curved architectural lines were used throughout the clinic to convey vitality, movement, and hope—helping patients feel strength rather than pressure during treatment. The reception area reflects the doctor’s academic background and professional taste, combining walnut wood with European-style timber detailing. Each vertical timber panel is magnet-enabled, allowing medical articles and displays to be easily updated.
In the waiting area, a mirrored ceiling was boldly introduced to reduce the sense of oppression caused by the low 2.3-metre ceiling height. Clinical rooms adopt a clean, all-white palette to emphasise hygiene and calmness. Curved crystal glass partitions separate treatment rooms, allowing different visuals to be applied at different times, creating a sense of freshness and change. The use of double-glazed glass significantly enhances both sound insulation and lighting quality.
Doors, windows, and detailing throughout the clinic extend the petal concept, creating a cohesive and memorable spatial experience. Thoughtful design transformed this compact 1,000 sq ft clinic into a space filled with strength, warmth, and lasting impact.
