TIA Clinic Design
“ A patient-focused dental clinic designed to feel calm, welcoming and naturally lit, redefining the traditional clinical experience.”
Dental clinics are often associated with discomfort, but this project was designed to change that perception entirely. The aim was to create a welcoming, calm and friendly environment that feels less clinical and more human.
Located in Fanling, this standalone building was fully re-planned to improve circulation, functionality and overall user experience for both medical staff and patients. Natural daylight fills the interior, enhancing comfort while supporting efficient daily operations.
The entrance was widened and a gentle ramp was introduced to provide barrier-free access. Instead of traditional seating behind glass doors, a long upholstered bench was installed,
offering greater comfort and privacy. The seating extends along one side of the clinic, allowing patients to watch television from multiple angles while maintaining personal space.
Opposite the seating area, a curved reception counter stretches across the space, allowing nurses to oversee both the entrance and the treatment areas efficiently. Integrated magazine racks and patient record storage are neatly incorporated into the reception design.
This thoughtful and patient-centred approach has since been adopted as a reference model for future dental clinic designs.
